Cryptocurrency trading platform HitBTC has announced that it has added support for Emercoin on its platform.

Emercoin (EMC), one of the most prominent members of the top-20 digital currencies, has market capitalisation of $15 million, at press time. HitBTC said that the coin is paired with Bitcoin (EMC/BTC) on its platform, adding that EMC/EUR market will also be added soon.

Started in 2013, Emercoin is a unique cryptocurrency with hybrid POS+POW mining. It can be used to store and manage digital assets through blockchain. However, Emercoin is not just confined to being a digital currency, rather it represents a technological platform for distributed, censorship-proof and scalable enterprise services.

At present, Emercoin provides several services, which includes EMCDNS, EMCSSH, EMCSSL, Magnet, EMCTTS, EMCLNX, and EMCDPO. In addition, Emercoin was one of the first blockchain technologies to collaborate with Microsoft Azure for Blockchain as a Service (BaaS) program. Currently, all Emercoin’s services are available on the Azure marketplace.

“The variety of remarkable services depicts Emercoin’s intent towards becoming a key player on the blockchain market, and explains the recent rapid increase in the EMC exchange rate”, HitBTC said. “What is even more exciting, Emercoin is already integrating its technology into a number of businesses, namely a farm and a watch factory.”

Founded in 2013, HitBTC provides trading services to individual traders and is known for its state-of-the-art matching engine, multi-currency support as well as its friendly customer service. In addition to Emercoin, the platform supports several cryptocurrencies – Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ether, Lisk, NXT, DOGE, Dash, and Steem to name a few.
