FRIGATE PLUGIN NOW SUPPORTS EMERCOIN DOMAIN ZONES
The FriGate browser plugin, which automatically grants users bypass access to blocked websites, now works on websites with domain zones in the Emercoin blockchain.
FriGate checks whether a website is accessible, and if it is not, it enables a proxy for that domain. Only websites included in the user-defined list can be checked for accessibility.
The most recent plugin update added support for .onion domains, enabling users to open alternative Emercoin domain zones (EMCDNS: .lib, .emc .bazar *.coin.)
The decentralized Emerсoin DNS network was launched in November 2014. The need for this service arose from the fact that in centralized DNS networks all domain records are managed not by the owners of sites, but rather by the network providers, which can disable the records on their own or by order from the authorities.
Currently, the following zones are used in the Emercoin system:
*.coin — anything related to coins and commerce;
*.emc — Emercoin-related resources;
*.lib — a derivative of the words Library and Liberty;
*.bazar — various buy/sell services.
